(Copy).
No. 1362.
Government House,
Hongkong, 14th October, 1880.
I have the honour, by desire of the Governor, to inform you that the Earl of Kimberley has requested His Excellency to consider whether it would not be well in future to appropriate building grants for Ecclesiastical purposes, and to discontinue all annual Allowances whatever for such purposes as the present recipients die out.
I am to say that His Excellency would be much obliged if you would favour him with your views.
Revd. W. Semple.
